There was no way I was going to be able to relax in a room that hot
Last weekend, I had to move to a new apartment. At this point in my life, I am still leasing. It seems like every year I am forced to pack my whole life into boxes, shuttle the boxes about 15 minutes down the street, and unpack it all again. I am certainly getting sick of moving all the time. Even though I have never really enjoyed the stress of moving, this is definitely the worst move I’ve had yet. My apartment was located on the fourth floor of the building, and there is no elevator. This made it nearly impossible to move anything larger than a suitcase. It was extremely exhausting, but that’s not even the worst part. The weather was unusually hot that day, I’m talking like eighty five degrees and sunny. It felt like the sun was gonna set me on fire at one point! We were moving things in and out of the hot sun for hours. This wouldn’t have been so bad if we had access to air conditioning, but of course the building had not yet kicked on the air conditioning for the season. It made sense given that this was the first truly warm day of the year, but it made things so much worse for us. When we finally got done with the move, I couldn’t even stay in the apartment. I was so hot and dehydrated that I was desperate for some cool air. There was no way I was going to be able to relax in a room that hot. We ended up going to a restaurant and sitting in the air conditioned dining room for almost three hours. I swear, I am never moving again! It’s not worth the struggle.
